A north London community-based charity has announced joy, care and courage as the core values that will define its work.
The Winch in North Camden, which supports children, young people, and families in north Camden, says the values emerged from a period of community consultation and reflection with children, young people, partners, and staff.
The Winch Manifesto outlines the meaning behind each value. Joy is described as a strength that comes from belonging to a community that acts together.

Rashid Iqbal, CEO of The Winch, said: "Our new values of Joy, Care and Courage are more than just words; they are a promise to our community. By listening to our children, young people and staff, we have captured the spirit of what makes the Winch a vital home for so many.
"These values will guide us as we continue to create spaces where everyone feels they matter and has the support to step into new possibilities."
Care is the foundation of all operations, and is how The Winch builds relationships rooted in commitment, trust and solidarity.
Courage is defined as "hope in action" – standing up for what is right, challenging injustice, and taking responsibility even when it feels uncertain.
Mr Iqbal said: "We are grateful to Wayne Murray, of Humanity Squared, for his fantastic support in developing our new values."
The launch of the centre’s new values coincides with the unveiling of a brand-new website. The updated site aims to make it easier for the community to get involved, explore programmes, and see the values in action.
The Winch describes itself as a community-based charity dedicated to helping children and young people succeed, regardless of their circumstances. It offers a range of play, youth, and community programmes to create a safe and welcoming environment for growth and development.
