A supermarket and a bar and restaurant will be the first businesses to open in a square created as part of a new community in north London.

Co-op and Urban Leisure Group have been announced as the first retail and hospitality operators for Brent Cross Town’s Neighbourhood Square, part of an £8 billion development.

Charmaine Rees, senior retail asset manager at Related Argent, said: "The new brands arriving are a testament to our vision for a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood.

"Their commitment to ethical retailing, sustainability, and community investment aligns perfectly with our values.

"These businesses will serve as the cornerstone for a dynamic blend of household names and independents, supporting the needs and aspirations of all who live and work here.

"With more exciting openings on the horizon, Brent Cross Town is rapidly evolving into a flourishing place to call home."

Brent Cross Town’s recruitment hub will promote job opportunities connected to the new openings.

The town is set to eventually include 6,700 homes, over 50 restaurants and shops, and 50 acres of green space.
