A historic Grade II former chapel which has been converted into five luxury apartments is on the market.

The Connaught chapel at St John’s Wood Terrace is believed to have been built in the 1800s before it was closed in 1922.

Later in the 1950s the building became known as St John’s Wood Studios as two stages were built and many classic films – including Peter Cook and Dudley Moore’s 1967 comedy Bedazzled – were filmed there.

Over the years the site was owned and used by many other media productions after the original St John’s Wood Studios shut in the 1970s.

Now estate agents Estate Office are listing the “rarely available” building with five luxury self-contained apartments.

According to the listing, they have been designed “for ultimate comfort and luxury”, each offering large living spaces, double height ceilings, roof gardens, balconies as well as secure underground car and cycle parking.

There is also a private gym, sauna and swimming pool room and a private garden of about 200sq m.

The guide price is at around £20,000,000.
