A popular artisan bakery started on a north London kitchen table is to set open its first bricks and mortar shop in Muswell Hill.

Astrid Bakery began three years ago as a "pop up breakfast microbakery" delivering fresh pastries, croissants and breads across North London."

Their luxury breakfast boxes were a hit during lockdown, and the outfit is also known for its delicious cakes, cinnamon buns, and artisan breads.

Now, according to founder and baker Charlotte O'Kelly, they are set to unveil their new premises on Alexandra Park Road in early 2024.

In a Facebook post, the former fashion journalist turned baker wrote: " Wowza! A big hello to all the new people. Having operated from home for the past three years, we are getting ready to open our first bricks and mortar bakery site early in 2024. There’s a lot going on behind the tiny facade on Alexandra Park Road, so follow along for a few sneak peeks."

Astrid Bakery website said the breakfast boxes are on hold while they work on the new project with just bespoke orders being filled where possible.

Under the headline 'Building A Dream' the website adds: "We are so excited to be building a bakery. Off the kitchen table and into the tiniest space in our leafy North London village."

The new bakery takes over a former beauty therapists at 118a Alexandra Park Road, and at just 400 square feet is set to be mainly a take-away selling breakfast goods and lunch time sandwiches.
