Saturday October 14 is Bookshop Day, the annual day of celebration when book lovers are encouraged to visit their local store.

Author talks, story-time sessions, book signings and events are taking place up and down the country in the spirit of this year’s theme: “Bookshops bringing people together.”

Events include Crouch End independent Pickled Pepper Books which is hosting The Tiger Who Came to Tea story time and craft parties for ages 2-7 on Saturday at 10am, 11am and 3pm.

Judith Kerr's magical story book about Sophie and her mother who is visited by a tiger who eats all the food and drinks all the water in the tap has been loved by generations of schoolchildren since it was first published in 1968.
