Police are investigating after a room in a hostel was damaged in a fire.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters tackled a blaze at a hostel on Arlington Road, Camden, on Tuesday (October 3) after the London Fire Brigade was called at 11.05am that day.

The fire damaged part of a single room on the third floor and one woman evacuated the property before the fire brigade arrived.

She was assessed at the scene by firefighters.

Crews from Kentish Town, Euston, Soho and Paddington stations attended the scene.

The blaze was under control by 12.04pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
