A free two day street festival of live music, creative workshops, and food stalls takes over a corner of Camden Town this weekend.

The hugely popular Camden Inspire makes a welcome return over September 2 and 3 with the open air festivities taking place in a pedestrianised Buck Street and Stucley Place.

Local venues Cafe KOKO, Green Note, the Roundhouse and Spiritual Bar have curated the packed programme of music and spoken word programme alongside Camden's Dig It Soundsystem.

Expect a mix of indie, jazz, soul, electronica, pop and folk, including Venus Flytraxx, whose fusion of global dance and Afrofuturist sounds will bring a carnival spirit to Camden; jazz bassist vocalist and composer Amy Gadiaga, and Prime Cuts closing proceedings with an incendiary DJ set.

The festival aims to celebrate the borough’s creativity and communities with this year's theme of ‘storytelling’.

London Night Czar Amy Lamé said: "I’m delighted that Camden’s fantastic venues are joining together as part of this year’s Inspire festival. Together they will be celebrating the borough’s music and community with a line-up from indie and jazz to soul and folk. It’s another fabulous reason to visit the area and soak up the global artistry and sounds that make Camden famous."

Festival goers can take part in free or low cost workshops including capoeira with Centro Cultural Senzala; mosaic making with the London School of Mosaics, circus skills with Roundhouse, lino printing workshops with River Manning, or a live installation creating murals with street artists from Camden Open Air Gallery.
