A drug dealer caught red-handed has been found guilty of supplying drugs and money laundering.

Saeed Hersi, of Clerkenwell in Islington, was first arrested after officers saw him make an exchange in Lyme Street, Camden, on September 28, 2021.

Hersi, now 22, was searched at the scene, and officers found a rucksack with £1,320 as well as a mobile phone.

He was released under investigation but officers found the phone was linked to drugs supplied in Islington after analysing the device.

A further £1,600 in cash was found after searching his home, as well as a phone used to sell cannabis.

Class A drugs worth around £1,400 were also found in a cupboard.

Police arrested him again on January 11 and he was remanded in custody.

Hersi pleaded guilty to supplying Class A and Class B drugs at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday (August 21).

Sentencing will take place in October at the same court.

DS Richard Greenwood said: “After a thorough investigation which included detailed forensic analysis, Hersi will now face justice for his actions. He has now been taken off the streets and will no longer pose a threat to the public.

“The drugs trade relies upon exploitation and violence to operate and as such we will continue to pursue those responsible, putting them before the courts.”
