The annual Notting Hill Carnival celebrations are approaching this Bank Holiday weekend, meaning there will be changes to where you can park.

Looking ahead to the two-day festivities this weekend on Sunday (August 27) and Monday (August 28), anyone travelling to Notting Hill should be aware of the restrictions in place in the surrounding area.

Westminster Council says that this year expects to see 13 steel bands, 72 mas bands, six Brazilian bands and 36 sound systems as well as 300 stalls.

As always, this means most roads in the area and outlying districts including near Kilburn and Maida Vale will be closed off, with large crowds expected from 6am on the Sunday until 6am on the Tuesday (August 29).

Only carnival floats, pre-authorised event vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed into the area.

Specifically, expect routes to be diverted from: Harrow Road, Porchester Road, Bishops Bridge Road, Inverness Terrace, Bayswater Road, Notting Hill Gate

Holland Park Avenue, Uxbridge Road, Wood Lane, Scrubs Lane, Harrow Road
