The sun beat down as mothers, grandmothers and children held a silent vigil about the climate emergency as European countries battle wildfires.
Members of Mother’s Rebellion took part in an hour-long sit-in in Muswell Hill Road, on July 29, organised by Muswell Hill's Extinction Rebellion.
The group were motivated by reports of extreme temperatures and wildfires currently taking place in Europe.
Sat in a horseshoe, within which there was a play area for children, the group of 20 women were called to silence at midday by the ringing of a Buddhist bell.
Others talked to passers-by about the purpose of the event.
An hour later the bell chimed, calling an end to the protest.
Chrissy Kelly, one of the organisers, said: "We are grateful to all those passers-by who showed their support and who stopped to write their own messages.
"Some children also enjoyed the play area.
"There are now daily reports of extreme temperatures and wild fires in the newspapers and on television news that show we must act in whatever way we can to ensure governments take the necessary steps to avoid climate breakdown."
Another vigil is planned on Saturday (August 12) near the playground in Priory Park, gathering from 11.40am to begin at 12pm.
