The summer holidays can be a time parents count their pennies, with the need to feed and entertain their kids for weeks.

There is an answer, as bargain hunting website Money Saving Central has listed shops and restaurants where children, mostly aged 10 and under, can eat for free or for with discounts over the school break.

All four major supermarkets have kids deals, with some needing no adult spend at all.

Some restaurants, hotels and even IKEA have also set up deals to help the family finances stretch further over the summer holiday.

Asda

Shop at Asda? Go to their cafe and children eat for £1 all day, with no adult spend at all.

Tesco

Little ones can get a free breakfast with any adult purchase at a Tesco Café. The Kids Eat Free offer is available from July 24 to September 1.

The supermarket's 'Little' range includes beans on toast, eggs on toast, avocado on toast and blueberry pancakes.

There are also lunch deals available with every adult purchase where a child can pick a main, two sides and a drink.

Sainsbury's

At Sainsbury's Cafe, children eat for £1 if you buy an adult meal. Available from 11.30am every day.

Morrisons

Spend £4.49 at Morrisons and get a free kids meal all day.

Yo! Sushi

Kids eat free at Yo! Sushi with every £10 adult spend from July 17 to August 11.

Bella Italia

Children can eat at Bella Italia for £1 with any adult main from 4pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday.

Ikea

Families going to Ikea can but children's food from 95p after 11am.

Premier Inn

Any adult paying £8.99 for breakfast at the hotel chain can get free meals for two children.

Gordon Ramsay

Children eight or under can get a free meal from the set menu at selected Gordon Ramsay restaurants, including the York & Albany in Parkway, Camden and Pizza East restaurants.  Adults must be dining from the a la carte menu to make the most of the deal.
