A piece of ultra-modern Los Angeles minimalism is available in Hampstead after a villa designed by the architect behind homes for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went on the market.
Previously rented out to Hollywood A-listers, the sleek six-bedroom mansion in Cannon Lane, Hampstead, was designed in 2016 by Italian architect Claudio Silvestrin, who has worked with Kim and Kanye as well as fashion designer Georgio Armani and Caroline Neuendorf of the Artnet digital art dynasty.
Silvestrin previously designed a minimalist Manhattan apartment with French limestone interiors, which Kim and Ye once lived in during the early years of their relationship and was previously the rapper’s bachelor pad between 2007 and 2014.
In 2013, the architect also worked with Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt to advise on the five-year refurbishment of the couple’s 15,000sq ft Calabasas family home, where Kim still lives with her four children following her divorce with the controversial artist.
The 7,940sq ft Hampstead home has a very similar style to the Calabasas Kardashian residence, with two spacious entertainment rooms, a home cinema and a two-car garage with a James Bond-style car lift.
There is also an entire health spa floor that includes a swimming pool, gym, sauna and a steam and treatment room.
Unlike the flashy interiors you might stereotypically expect from a Hollywood mansion, the minimalistic Hampstead property has an almost empty look with finishing touches of yellow-ochre rock slab walls and flooring as well as oak-floored spaces.
On the ground floor there is a large reception room, a garage, a terrace and a balcony overlooking the 160sq m garden.
With lift access to all floors, the lower ground floor has a second reception room, a glass-walled kitchen and breakfast room, as well as its own walk-in pantry.
Its lower ground floor also has a cinema room and plant room.
At the basement, the health spa floor and its 60ft long swimming pool can be found as well as a staff bedroom.
The principal bedroom suite spans almost side of the first floor, with the main bedroom opening onto a balcony and separate terrace, compete with a walk-in dressing room and a master bathroom with sculptural freestanding bathtub.
There are three other bedrooms, one of which is an en suite, and a family bathroom on that floor.
At the top floor there is another principal bedroom with a walk-in dressing room and en suite shower room, its own balcony and access to a terrace green roof on second floor.
The kitchens and bathrooms bear a striking resemblance to the Kardashian mansion, which Kim has featured many times in her social media posts and in her reality shows Keeping up with the Kardashians and also The Kardashians.
She has also been interviewed about the designs in Architectural Digest and Vogue.
Rosy Khalastchy, director and head of the Beauchamp Estates St John’s Wood office, said: “The Claudio Silvestrin villa in Hampstead is an iconic residence, like a piece of contemporary artwork.
“The cool minimalist interiors and the beautifully designed upper and lower gardens provide the perfect retreat for a family wanting a London base.
“Over the last few years the villa has been rented out to a series of major Hollywood stars who have wanted to reside in an LA-style pad whilst they have been working in London.
“Now the vendor has decided it is time to list this very special property for sale, with its celebrity connections we anticipate a lot of interest in this residence.”
