Plans to build an extra floor on a home in a north London estate could be a model for "upwards expansion".
Plans for the house in Meadowbank, Primrose Hill claim the development would “create an improved template for upwards expansion within an estate clearly desperate for additional space”.
Documents submitted to Camden Council on June 20 suggest that the proposals are identical to others approved in December 2021, but with the addition of roof windows and roof louvres.
The plans allow for an additional storey at the home, standing 2.8m above the current height of the roof.
They also make clear that the extra floor "would match the existing building material palette and detailing with white painted render, brickwork, and white uPVC windows".
The development’s daylight and sunlight report claims that “the proposed additional storey would have minimal impact” on the light received by neighbours.
The applicant urged the council to find that there would be “minimal impact” in terms of the extra floor overlooking or overbearing nearby homes.
They also promised to follow Camden’s permitted noisy working hours, which are from 8am until 1pm on Monday to Saturday, extended to 6pm during weekdays.
