Cars are being submerged in water after a burst water main following heavy rain.

Footage shows drivers struggling to drive their cars through a gush of water near the A406 by the junction of Golders Green Road and Brent Street.

Golders Green Road is partially blocked both ways, with queueing traffic due to a reported burst water main around Gloucester Gardens.

Bus routes including the 83, 183 and 240 are being diverted as a result.

Despite the heat today (June 12), there was a short period of rain and thunder this afternoon that disrupted the otherwise sunny day.

The North London Waste Authority (NWLA) has announced that there have been drainage issues at the Regis Road Reuse and Recycling Centre in Kentish Town.

Anyone wishing to dispose and recycle their items have been warned that they will be unable to enter the site, but staff will still collect items at the entrance – which could result in queues.

The NWLA wrote: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope the site will be open as usual by tomorrow afternoon.”
