Hampstead Heath's outdoor swimming pool is closed following a burst water main.

The City of London Corporation, the organisation that manages the Parliament Lido, is urging swimmers to use the mixed, men's or ladies ponds on the Heath while the issue is sorted out.

Posting updates on Twitter, @CityCorpHeath said that all season tickets can be used at the ponds and anyone with a booked ticket will be refunded.

The lido, near Gospel Oak station, currently features an unheated 60-metre open-air swimming pool, open 365 days a year, a small cafe and sauna.

A spokesperson for the City of London Corporation, which manages Hampstead Heath as a registered charity, said: “The Parliament Hill Lido is currently closed due to a burst water pipe. We are working with our specialist contractors  to fix this and reopen the facility as soon as possible.

“Season tickets can be used at the Bathing Ponds and anyone with a pre-booked ticket for the Lido during the closure will be refunded.”
