There will be ample opportunities for families to escape the heat this summer, as paddling pools in Haringey will be open seven days a week.

The council has decided to extend opening days for the borough’s paddling pools beyond the school summer holidays.

From May 27, the paddling pools in Priory Park, Lordship Recreation Ground and Bruce Castle Park will be open seven days a week.

In previous years, these facilities were only open Friday to Sunday in the summer, extended to every day of the week during school summer holidays.

The new opening days will now be in place until the end of the summer holidays at the start of September.

Cllr Sarah Williams, Haringey cabinet member for finance and local investment, invited all residents with young children to take advantage of the extended opening hours.

She added: “We’re delighted to be able to extend the opening of our public paddling pools for the whole of the summer season this year.

“We know how important free outdoor activities are for our children and families during the summer months, and in the hot weather there’s nothing better than water play to help children cool down and have fun.”

Haringey paddling pools are free to use for all children under 8 years old and no booking is required to access the facilities.
