A road was closed after emergency services rushed to the scene amid concerns for the safety of a man.

Police closed off part of High Road in Wood Green, near The Mall shopping centre yesterday (April 16).

It is understood the man was escorted away from the scene.

The incident took place in the morning and the closure was lifted before noon.

The Met says they will not comment or share more information on such “mental health crises”.

Just days before on Wednesday (April 12), emergency services were called at 4.50pm to reports of two women being injured after one fell from height at the same spot.

Both the woman who fell and a woman walking in the street were initially left in hospital fighting for their lives.

On Friday, Metropolitan Police said that the pedestrian’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, however the woman who fell was still critically ill.

The Mall was approached for comment.
