A predator has been jailed after sexually assaulting lone women on London buses.

Sinan Adali, 31, targeted women on buses in Camden, Hackney and Walthamstow between November 2022 and January 2023.

One of the women was sexually assaulted for 30 minutes as she slept.

Police tracked Adali, of no fixed address, using CCTV to link him to the offences. He was arrested while waiting for a bus on February 3.

He was charged later that day and the overwhelming evidence against him meant he pleaded guilty during his first hearing on February 4.

Adali was sentenced to 35 weeks’ imprisonment at Thames Magistrates on February 22.

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Dougall said: "Adali brazenly targeted women as they travelled on public transport and I am pleased that our investigation has resulted in him being convicted.

“When he's released from prison, his activity will be monitored for 10 years to ensure he does not go on to reoffend.

"Women should feel able to travel in the public without fear of being harassed or assaulted by men and our officers will continue to take action against those who carry out such appalling crimes."
