TV presenter Mary Portas snapped herself in pyjamas as she cleared bits of rubbish left behind near her Primrose Hill home.
The retail consultant announced at the start of the year that she and her consultancy We Are Portas will carry out “acts of kindness” one day a month in January to help start the year with positivity.

Outside her Primrose Hill home, she shared pictures of herself cleaning up “other people’s mess” left behind after a bin collection.
She said: “Now I love my bin men, I really do. Every week I get woken up by the sound of their lorry clanking down the road and actually appreciate it.
“The bin men sing and whistle loudly, clear up, they do a vital job. But they also tend to leave a lot of bits and pieces behind.”
She said uncleared rubbish tends to be because some do not pack up their rubbish properly and it is blown by the wind.
The presenter continued: “And that’s where I come in. Because each week, I go outside in my pyjamas to clean up what’s left behind outside my house - and often my neighbours’ too.”
