A 22-year old woman has been named as the victim of a fatal collision in Brent Cross on Christmas Day (December 25).

Maria Carolina Do Nascimento died after the car she was a passenger in was involved in a collision with another car along Hendon Way, at the Brent Cross flyover.

The collision happened at roughly 3.45am after officers had tried to pull over a car on Hendon Way.

The car drove off from police and officers did not pursue.

Shortly afterwards, police were told that the same car had been involved in a collision with Maria’s car. Those in the car that failed to stop for police fled the scene on foot.

London Ambulance Service attended the site of the collision, but despite the best efforts of paramedics, Maria died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

A man who was the driver of the second car suffered a head injury but his condition is not serious.

Three men, two aged 29 and one aged 21, were arrested on Christmas Day (December 25) on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

A 32-year-old man was then arrested on December 27 on suspicion of the same offences.

All four men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
