A flat was left with scorch marks after a fire broke out.

The London Fire Brigade quikcly rushed to the flat fire on Rowley Way in South Hampstead this afternoon (December 15).

A four-roomed flat on the third floor of the building was alight, and footage showed smoke rising in the area.

There were six fire engines and 40 firefighters at the scene after being called at 2.57pm.

Crews from Paddington, North Kensington, West Hampstead and surrounding stations attended.

It was under control by 4.01pm and no injuries were reported.

Heavy traffic was reported in the area, and despite it being generally busy - it contributed to cars queuing near Swiss Cottage and just past Finchley Road station.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
