North London rivals Haringey Borough and Wingate & Finchley both bowed out of the Isuzu FA Trophy at the weekend.

Borough welcomed Isthmian League Premier Division rivals Billericay Town to CVS Van Hire Stadium, having lost just one game in six since a 3-0 home loss to the Blues on September 20.

And they had their first chance of note on 21 minutes when good work from Matthew Young set up Kaylen Hinds, who fired just wide.

The visitors took the lead seven minutes before the break through Chris Dickson, who was part of the Hornchurch side that lifted the silverware at Wembley Stadium in May 2021.

And the second half was only six minutes old when John Ufuah doubled the advantage to leave Borough with a mountain to climb.

Tom Loizou made a double substitution midway through the second half, sending on Alphanso Kennedy and Samuel Owusu for Georgious Aresti and Dame-Bemwin.

And Kennedy was denied by a good save from Harry Seaden, after going through on goal on 74 minutes.

Callum Ismail made way for Chaynie Fage-Burgin in the third Haringey change and the substitute made an immediate impact, netting with his first touch when a dangerous ball was played in from a corner to raise hopes of a fightback.

Billericay had the last word, though, as Ufuah claimed his second goal of the tie in the final minute of normal time to seal a 3-1 victory.

Wingate & Finchley, meanwhile, travelled to Isthmian South Central outfit Uxbridge buoyed by back-to-back league wins over Canvey Island and Brightlingsea Regent, since the departure of boss Marc Weatherstone.

But they fell behind on 34 minutes as Alex Witham put the home side fin front and conceded a second to Alan Hedley early in the second half.

Dylan Kearney hit back to halve the deficit and Blues were back on level terms just three minutes late as Alkeo Bani struck.

However, Uxbridge scored twice in the last three minutes of normal time as Scott Donnelly converted from the penalty spot and Victor Osobu sealed a 4-2 victory.

Wingate return to league action with a trip to Hornchurch on Saturday, after Haringey made the same trip to Bridge Avenue in midweek.

Borough are back on home turf to entertain Folkestone Invicta on Saturday and then welcome Kingstonian on Tuesday (7.45pm).
