A BUS driver who ploughed his double-decker into a railway bridge in Kentish Town has been banned from driving for six months.
On February 11 2008, Carlton Smith crashed his bus in Prince of Wales Road. Passengers were forced to dive for cover as the roof was sliced off like a tin of sardines, with one man left in a critical condition with head injuries.
At the time, witnesses told how the driver failed to take notice of warning signs and attempted to squeeze under the bridge arch while on diversion because of the Camden market fire.
Smith pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on Tuesday last week. He was also fined 265.
