PRINCE Charles was in Gospel Oak yesterday to visit an historical housing block.
His Royal Highness is a patron of the Almshouse Association, and was in the area to meet residents of the almshouses in Southampton Road which celebrate their 150th anniversary.
Nearby neighbour Michael Palin also popped over the road to meet the prince.
He said: "There have been a lot of new buildings going up in Gospel Oak, but it's nice to have something over 150 years old which is still in use.
"If I was getting on a bit, I would like to spend my time in a place like this - rather than a tower block.
