THREE people were forced to flee a house fire in Highgate on Sunday afternoon.
Up to 15 firefighters with three fire engines spent an hour battling the blaze in a top-floor flat of a three-storey house in Hornsey Lane Gardens at about 5pm.
The residents were unharmed but the second and third floor and the roof were damaged, while other flats suffered water damage.
Resident Fiona Caldwell, 26, said: "The neighbours rang the doorbell and someone shouted that there was a fire. I rushed out the back to see the thick smoke coming from the top windows.
"Our neighbour Johnny called the police. He's a hero."
Haringey Police are treating the fire as suspicious.
