Arsene Wenger admitted he "lost control" after his side blew a 2-0 lead to draw with Bayern Munich at Highbury.
"I don' t believe in jumping up and down the touchline all season, but once or twice a year it can help the players see what you want," he said after goals from Michael Tarnat and Mehmet Scholl cancelled out early strikes from Thierry Henry and Kanu.
"It was frustration, more than anger, and it is rare for me. Without emotion, it isn't a game. It is football, not an upper-class sport. You have to show you are happy when you score and unhappy when you lose.
"You don't want to play the Japanese way - smiling and bowing at the opposition when they score against you."
Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness said: "I am delighted we fought back so well against a World-class team like Arsenal.
