WITNESSES have reported a fire that broke out in Hampstead after an apparent explosion involving a car on Saturday evening (January 23).
The blaze started in Heath Street at 7.30pm after a blue Mercedes dropped some passengers off near the Everyman Cinema, and left nearby shops damaged.
Police have confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious and they believe the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
No-one was hurt in the incident and after the scene was cordoned off a London Fire Brigade crew attended and put the fire out.
