POLICE have moved in to close down a suspected brothel in Hampstead.
Officers from the Frognal and Fitzjohn's Safer Neighbourhoods Team issued a closure notice to a brothel on Finchley Road where a number of girls were thought to be working as prostitutes. One was arrested and is due to be deported as an illegal immigrant.
The raid on Tuesday last week came after a number of residents had complained about the premises, opposite the O2 Centre.
Sgt Phil Hewetson said: "We issued a warning notice and spoke to the girls to make sure none of them were trafficked to the country or that they were being forced to work there.
