ANDREY Arshavin has targeted nine points from Arsenal's final three Premier League games to end the season on a high, writes Jem Maidment.

The Russia international is rated as 50-50 to return for Saturday's visit of Manchester City after not featuring since suffering a calf strain in the 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League last month.

And he watched helplessly as his team-mates were knocked out of Europe and then saw their title hopes fade after defeats at first Tottenham and then Wigan.

"It was a shame because I could not help my team-mates," said Arshavin (pictured).

'This season has been tough, sometimes it was even difficult for me and my team, but in general it was not bad.

"Hopefully we will win the last three games. I am recovering and I hope to be back for Manchester City."

He also vowed Arsenal would "fight again" for the title next season - and believes Robin van Persie's extended absence due to his ankle injury has not helped this term.

The Dutchman has returned in the past week and could get his first start of 2010 on Saturday.

"Unfortunately it [Van Persie's return] is slightly too late to win a trophy,"added Arshavin.

"He had a big impact last season and he has done well before his injury, so he is showing his quality.

"It would be easier if we had not had the injuries. I cannot say we would be champions but it would be easier for us."

l GAEL Clichy has denied he will move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the summer after intense speculation in the Spanish media.

The Arsenal defender said: "They are great teams as everyone knows, but all I want to say is that I am focused on the end of the season.

"I want to win something here. I have two years left on my contract, so it is not a question to answer.
