Davor Suker said he wanted to leave Arsenal in the summer - but stay in London.
Revealing West Ham is his preferred destination, the Croat said: 'Just look how much I have gained from life here. Today I am speaking such good English that I wouldn't be ashamed to address any meeting in the world.
Meanwhile, Dennis Bergkamp scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal beat Lens 1-0 in the first leg of their Uefa Cup semi final.
Many Arsenal players were critical of the decision to play in yellow at home - especially as Lens' kit also heavily featured the colour - and Arsene Wenger said: "One of our players complained and we asked the referee to change our shirts at half time because it was not right. I wanted to change into white shirts but the referee and the UEFA official did not allow us to do that.
