PART of the District and Circle Lines were suspended today after a man’s body was found on the tracks near Bayswater Tube station.
An overnight tube maintenance patrol discovered the man’s body in a tunnel between Bayswater and Notting Hill Gate just before 2.30am.
The man is believed to be 38 and from West London. British Transport Police said that they are treating his death as “non suspicious”.
A spokesman said: “The man had suffered injuries consistent with being struck by a train.”
The Circle Line was totally suspended this morning and the District Line was suspended between Earl’s Court and Edgware Road. Services on both lines have now resumed.
A TfL spokeswoman said: “Just before 2.30am this morning our overnight maintenance patrol discovered a body in a tunnel between Bayswater and Notting Hill Gate. We are assisting the police investigation, which is now underway.
“As a consequence of this incident the Circle and District lines were disrupted this morning, with the District line suspended between Earl’s Court and Edgware Road, and the Circle line suspended. Services on both lines have now resumed.”
