Maida Vale will soon welcome its first cinema after it was confirmed that the Everyman Maida Vale is set to open in November.
As revealed exclusively in the Wood&Vale last month, the cinema will be situated on the site of a vacant restaurant in Sutherland Avenue.
The two-screen venue is the first Everyman cinema to open since the company acquired the independent Screen Cinemas group in 2008.
The company says that the Everyman Maida Vale will focus on “providing local residents and businesses with a luxury cinema experience”.
Everyman chief executive Andrew Myers said: “We hope that Everyman Maida Vale will become a real asset to the area and become the centre of entertainment activity and, very much like our existing cinemas, become something that is valued and appreciated by residents both within and outside of Maida Vale.”
The Maida Vale branch will be the company’s fifth London cinema alongside Hampstead, Belsize Park, Baker Street and Screen on the Green.
The nearest existing cinemas to Maida Vale are branches of the Odeon multiplex in Whiteleys and Swiss Cottage, the independent Electric Cinema in Notting Hill, and the Everyman Baker Street.
