Racing star Juan Manuel Fangio’s 1956 Mille Miglia Ferrari will be just one of the stunning array of four-wheeled attractions on show at St John’s Wood’s first Classic and Supercar Pageant this Sunday.
Around £65million-worth of classic cars, including a 250 GT SWB Ferrari driven to victory five times in 1961 and Hollywood star Clark Gable’s Mercedes 300SL Roadster, will be displayed in the High Street, which will be closed to traffic for the day.
Clive Beecham, of the St John’s Wood High Street Association, said: “Some of the big kids will enjoy looking at the cars where maybe their spouses might enjoy some of the shopping opportunities in St John’s Wood, and at the same time there is fun for the little kids in the funfair, so that makes it a proper day for the whole family.”
The event will raise money for Rays Of Sunshine, which grants wishes to seriously ill children, and St John’s Hospice, which cares for 2,000 terminally-ill patients a year.
The pageant takes place between 11am and 5pm.
