Revised plans to develop a popular parade of shops in Highgate will go on public display on Saturday.
An information stand will be set-up in Swain’s Lane, outside the Old Fitzroy Unit, showing outline proposals for the site, which is owned by the Earl of Listowel.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the stand and share their feedback on the new designs, which are still open to change, with representatives from the company behind the development, Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners.
Original plans to bulldoze a number of independent shops at the site, build new flats and a supermarket, were met with fierce opposition from campaigners when they were published last year.
Since then, the Save Swain’s Lane Steering Committee, shopkeepers and the developers have been working together to come up with a vision for the area which suits all interested parties.
Chair of the committee, Rob Schoenbeck, said the group met on Monday to review the revised drawings and would be feeding back next week.
The stand will be open from 10am – 4pm on Saturday.
