A 15-year-old army cadet has been recognised for exceptional service and dedication at a ceremony in her honour.
Cadet L-Sgt Esther Boadu, who attends Haverstock School, in Haverstock Hill, Chalk Farm, received the prestigious Deputy Lieutenant Award for her work with the 213 Haverstock School Army Cadet Detachment (Grenadier Guards).
As an army cadet, Esther learns navigation skills, trains for shooting competitions, takes part in field training exercises and volunteers in the community.
She also acts as a liaison between Haverstock School and the cadets.
She is one of only a handful of cadets in London to be handed the accolade.
Deputy Lt Sir Ian Johnston, former chief constable of the British Transport Police, presented the award alongside deputy mayor of Camden, Cllr Lazzaro Pietragnoli.
