IT consultant Richard King is the UK Independence Party’s (Ukip) parliamentary candidate for Finchley and Golders Green.
The 54-year-old lives in Ilford with his wife and their 15-year-old daughter, who the couple adopted from India.

He said: “I believe in controlled immigration which benefits us all, but our tolerant society is now under threat by uncontrolled immigration on a scale never experienced before.
“How can we plan with our limited resources when 300,000 extra people are migrating to Britain every year?
“Our young people need school places, education and jobs; our elderly need proper care. We need decent wages, affordable housing, and lower crime. We should put local people first.”
