A Highgate schoolboy has won a prestigious Bafta award for designing a computer game.
Jack Reynolds, 16, of Cromwell Avenue, was presented with a Bafta young game designer award by Radio 1 presenter Cel Spellman on Saturday at a glittering awards ceremony in Piccadilly.
He won the Game Concept Awards in the 15-18 age category for his game Ouroboros, in which plays have to ‘die’ and respawn in order to progress.
Jack, who has just finished his GCSEs at University College School in Frognal, Hampstead, said he came up with the idea while on holiday.
The Bafta jury said the game was “cleverly designed to consistently reinforce its central theme”, and had “simple yet addictive game-play”.
As well as having his game developed, Jack wins a tour of film studios Shepperton Studios, copies of every game released this year by entertainment company Warner Bros and the opportunity to pitch his game to media multinational Sony.
