Residents of a threatened Highgate estate have launched a public campaign to protest against the demolition of their homes.
Tenants and leaseholders living on the Summersby Road estate in Highgate are fighting draft proposals from Haringey Council to knock down and rebuild the estate to provide affordable housing.
In response, they have launched a campaign to plead with the council: ‘Don’t demolish our community!’
They will be flying a home-made banner from the window of one of the flats to raise awareness of their fight.
The council has previously said no decision has been made for the estate’s future, and that it must consider ways to create more desperately-needed housing.
