A soup kitchen is £450 better off after a charity tombola saw donations pour in from across Muswell Hill.

The raffle, organised by the Muswell Hill and Fortis Green Association which represents 750 residents, was part of the ‘Very Merry Muswell’ festival in St. James’s Square last Saturday.

The association’s George Danker said: “We were extremely lucky to have been given a fantastic range of generous donations from shops and businesses who are our corporate members.

“Our dedicated members did a fantastic job of organising proceedings and manning the stall in such chilly weather, and managed to put a smile on hundreds of faces, both young and old.”

The group said it was delighted to have raised more than £450 for the Soup Kitchen in Muswell Hill Baptist Church thanking everyone involved with particular thanks to committee member and organiser Zoe Norfolk.
