A man has died and a child has been rushed to hospital after the car they were travelling in reportedly careered into a lamp post yards from the Priory Tavern pub on Belsize Road in Kilburn.
Paramedics arrived by air and road ambulance shortly after the incident was reported at 10.35 this morning but the man, who was in his fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from London’s Air ambulance service.
A child was taken as a priority to St.Mary’s hospital by ambulance.
Police officers who attended the scene said witnesses told them the car crashed into a lamp post and said in statement that they are not seeking to speak to anyone in connection with the incident at this stage.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and a report is being compiled for the coroner.
