The Eastenders and Coronation Street actress, who lives in East Finchley, reached out to her 182,000 Twitter followers on Sunday in the hope that someone could help her locate her mobile phone after a stressful trip to the home furnishings store.

Launching her appeal, Ms Collins posted to social media site Twitter: “Can’t believe left my phone @IKEA brent cross too much going on check My Find my iPhone and it’s in the area please hold it for me!”.

The actress had previously given followers an insight into her Sunday afternoon shopping trip by commenting that the number of parents and students shopping for university gear had made it a “bit of a nightmare” before joking “empty nest syndrome is coming!!”.

The actress may have made the phone-related mishap whilst helping her 18-year-old daughter Maia Tassalini-Collins prepare for the start of the new term at Bristol University, where she is due to start a history degree this month.

Last month Ms Collins spoke of her maternal pride after her daughter overcame an operation to remove her gall bladder and family tragedy to achieve three A’s at A-level from Channing School in Highgate.
