Tulip Siddiq used her general election victory speech to reasssure the Jewish community that she recognised there are issues in the Labour Party,
As she addressed the crowd at the Camden count on Friday morning, Ms Siddiq said: “To the Jewish Community could i say something to the Jewish community. I know there are issues that we need to work through. I will be working with you on those issues in parliament.”
She also spoke of her pride at the all-women candidate line-up in Hampstead and Kilburn and gave her thanks to her Bengali supporters for campaigning on her behalf.
She then made a pledge: “I will be Hampstead and Kilburn’s voice Westminster, not Westminster’s voice in Hampstead and Kilburn.
Ms Siddiq won 34,464 votes in Hampstead and Kilburn, increasing her majority by a huge 14.6 per cent and meaning the constituency is no longer considered a marginal.
