Haringey council grave digger Ian Delahunty has told of how he saved a mobile phone from being buried six feet under.
Writing in the latest edition of the council's Haringey People publication, he says: ''Sometimes things don't go according to plan. Once a funeral director bent over the grave during a service and his mobile phone dropped into the hole. I had to ask permission (of the relatives] to go down and get the phone back. If they had said no, then it would have stayed there.''
