A Premier League title next May would be the perfect way for Arsenal fans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of that stupendous title-winning win at Anfield in May 1989, a match the club will be commemorating with a host of events throughout the forthcoming season.
Even the new yellow away jersey has been designed in the same style as the kit worn on that balmy Friday evening on Merseyside.
George Graham, who won his first title as manager that night, recalled: "For me it remains a very special occasion. I have the most wonderful memories of that night - I just can't believe it was 20 years ago. It only seems like a few years ago, not 20."
And will a night like that ever be repeated? "No way," he replied, "That was the most amazing one-off and I'll never forget it.
