NEW lighting has been unveiled in a Golders Green road - the 500th street to be revamped under a council project.
Stronger lighting on higher lampposts has been introduced in Ravenscroft Avenue following several similar initiatives in Golders Green and Childs Hill.
The scheme is part of a deal the council made with private firm DW Lighting in May 2005.
Environment chief and Hampstead Garden Suburb councillor Andrew Harper said: "It is a corporate priority of the council to be clean, green and safe - and improving the quality of street lights in the borough is a key part of achieving this.
