Creative kids at Princess May Primary School have stamped their mark on an art project documenting the history of Dalston’s Ridley Road Market.
The Arts Council-funded scheme, started last year by illustrator Lucinda Rogers, culminated in Year 5 students at the school heading to the 150-year-old market to make drawings of their own.
And staff and parents celebrated the children’s artistic achievements in style with a private view exhibition of their various illustrations – back at the Princess May Road school.
Deputy head Catrina Bangura said: “This has been a wonderful opportunity for our children.
“They have loved every minute and it has been wonderful to share the results with the rest of the school and parents.”
A booklet of their drawings was published last week and will be distributed by the children to market traders, and a limited number will be on sale in the shop of the House of Illustration gallery
