A PERVERT is terrorising women in a quiet corner of Islington by exposing himself in the street.

The man, who is only in his 20s or early 30s, has struck four times in the past four months in and around the Southgate Road area on the border with Hackney.

The most recent incident occurred on February 19 at around 12.30am when a woman was targeted as she walked along Shepperton Road towards Southgate Road. The suspect walked past her exposing himself then disappeared in the direction of New North Road.

Six weeks earlier on January 3, the same man was seen exposing himself just a few hundred yards away on the Sherborne Estate, off Sherborne Street. The incident happened at about 9.50pm and the man was challenged by a female resident, and he walked off.

A couple of months before that in November, the suspect had gone even further in Balmes Road, off Southgate Road. Unbelievable, he was spotted masturbating in the street on two separate occasions a week apart by the same woman.

The man has not harmed anyone, but detectives are keen to identify him and are also appealing to anyone who may have been targeted in similar fashion to come forward and help.

Detective Constable Mark Cockerham, from the Special Investigations Unit, said: “Whilst this man has not had contact with any of the victims, they have been left upset and disturbed by these incidents. This man is offending within a small area and may be local. Police are keen to apprehend him as soon as possible and we would welcome any help from the community.”

The man is white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, and he may have a small beard. He wears dark clothing, a black beanie hat or baseball cap and sometimes carries a rucksack.
