Forward set to become Arsenal’s second signing of the summer
Lille striker Gervinho is at Arsenal to complete a medical in preparation for his 10.6 million move to north London.
The Ivory Coast international is at London Colney to sign a four-year deal contract with the Gunners and will become Arsene Wenger’s second signing of the summer following the capture of Carl Jenkinson from Charlton.
The 24-year-old forward scored 15 goals and made 10 assists as Lille won the title last season, and has already drawn comparison from some quarters to Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o.
He will join the Gunners in time for their tour of Malaysia and China for which they depart on Sunday, and could figure in the opening game against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur next Wednesday.
