Arsenal hosted Everton at the Emirates on Sunday. Read on for Layth Yousif’s PLAYER RATINGS
Arsenal:
Petr Cech: 8 – Excellent. Showed superb reflexes and anticipation to tip-over former Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne’s whipped free-kick on the half hour mark as he retuned to the No1 spot after Bernd Leno’s bow against Vorskla on Thursday in the Europa League. Was on his game his throughout to constantly deny Everton
Hector Bellerin: 7 - Showed vigour down his channel as he supplemented attacks while not neglecting his defensive duties
Shkodran Mustafi: 6 – Not good enough as a long-term choice for a ball-playing centre-half
Sokratis: 7 - A shame to see the former Borussia Dortmund centre-half limp off late in the first half as he has shown he reads the game well over the last few weeks and has excellent anticipation
Nacho Monreal: 7 – Consistent. Put in a shift
Granit Xhaka: 7 – Dovetailed well with Torreira in the middle as he fed off the confidence his great goal at
Lucas Torreira: 7 - Deservedly booked in under 15 minutes on his first Premier League start for a rash challenge. But why should that be a problem? His discipline is generally excellent and it is about time Arsenal had a tough terrier in the heart of midfield
Aaron Ramsey: 6 - Another quiet game overall despite two assists. Sign that contract or leave in January Aaron the choice is yours…
Mesut Ozil: 6.5 - Technically superb as he flitted in and out of the match
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 7.5 - Doubled the lead with a predator’s goal. Deserved it for his powerful running on and off the ball throughout as his pace constantly worried the Toffees backline
Alexandre Lacazette: 8 - Superb finish for the opening goal as the former Lyon man displayed clinical finishing. It was reward for his efforts as well as yet more evidence of his quality
Substitutes:
Rob Holding: 7.5 - Replaced the injured Sokratis before the interval to gain more vital experience after his run-out against Vorskla on Thursday
Alex Iwobi: 7 - On for Aubameyang
Danny Welbeck: 7 - On for the disappointing Ramsey late on
