2 February 1907: Council goes with the flow at Whitestone Pond
A letter is received by Hampstead Board of Guardians from the solicitors to the owners of Nos 1-13 Mansfield Place, complaining that the engines and machinery in the New End Workhouse are causing structural damage in the property by reason of the vibration and that the noise is a great annoyance and disturbance to the tenants.
The Whitestone Pond, Hampstead Heath, is under the control of the London County Council, although Hampstead council keeps it filled with water and cleanses it.
The Bishop of London consecrates the new chancel of St Saviour's, Eton Road, Hampstead, in the presence of a large congregation.
The church, one of the most spacious and beautiful places of worship in the borough, has been restored at a cost of over £5000.
